NCPC Membership Criteria, Dues & Benefits of Membership

Founded in 1991, North Carolina Presenters Consortium, Inc. is a not-for-profit membership association comprised of professional performing arts presenting organizations throughout North Carolina and industry professionals from NC and beyond who share the mission of bringing artists and audiences together. NCPC is supported by member dues, program fees, and through grant subsidy from the North Carolina Arts Council. Additional in-kind support is provided by our NC statewide project partner, OUR STATE Magazine.

Criteria for Membership

For both NC and non-NC presenting organizations to enjoy full membership status, the following criteria must be met:
1) proof of official 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status;
2) presenting (as distinguished from “producing”) at least three events featuring professional touring artists/companies per year;
3) the presentation of a cultural-based programming being among the organization’s primary purposes.

Membership is also provided for emerging not-for-profit presenting organizations which present fewer than three events yearly or are in process of establishing or further developing a broader presenting program, and for professional artists, agents, managers, vendors & industry-related service providers.

Annual dues and member benefits vary for presenting members, agents, managers, performing artists, service organizations and industry-associated vendors. Membership year runs July 1-June 30.

Non-presenter members’ support is vitally important in furthering the work and services of the North Carolina Presenters Consortium.  All professional/business members are listed on the NCPC website and are invited to a yearly gathering facilitating face-to-face time between presenters, artists, agents and vendor members.  Only presenter-category members may attend NCPC collaborative booking meetings.

One of the most valuable benefits for corporate and professional members is access to and inclusion on the NCPC email listserv -- an extremely easy-to-use and effective tool for publicizing arist routing availabilities, etc. Non-presenter members are invited to attend group functions at professional regional conferences and may co-sponsor or underwrite social & professional projects for the NCPC group. Professional non-presenter members may also receive advance notice and registration fee discounts for events such as the biennial ArtsMarket conference.
