Contact: Stephen Barefoot NCPC Administrative Director email or phone: 919.489.1541 NCPC Membership Criteria, Dues & Benefits of Membership North Carolina Presenters Consortium, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1991. It members are comprised of nonprofit organizations located throughout North Carolina who present performances by professional touring artists. Memberships are also available to non-NC presenters and to affiliate groups and individuals including professional artists & performing arts companies, artists’ managers and agents, service organizations, vendors, cultural tourism agencies, Chambers of Commerce, municipalities and other major arts supporters and corporations. Criteria for Membership For an NC (and non-NC) presenting organization to enjoy full membership status, the following criteria must be met: 1) proof of official 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status; 2) presenting (as distinguished from “producing”) at least three events featuring professional touring artists/companies per year; 3) the presentation of a cultural-based program being among the organization’s primary purposes. Membership is also provided for emerging not-for-profit presenting organizations which present fewer than three events yearly or are in process of establishing or further developing a broader presenting program, and for professional artist, agents, managers, vendors & industry-related service providers. Annual Membership Dues Membership year runs July 1-June 30. Dues are renewable yearly on July 1.
$75 when artist fees total less than $50,000 annually; $100, with artist fees less than $100,000 annually; and $150 for artist contracts totaling more than $100,000 annually.
$250 for Agency/Management/Vendor/Service Provider When your membership application is processed, you will be added to the appropriate listserv and you will receive a lengthy “orientation” email outlining numerous membership benefits, procedures & further instructions on access Benefits of Membership North Carolina Presenters Consortium is among the most respected networks of its kind. Member benefits are continually evaluated and expanded. A brief summary of current member benefits is outlined below. Certain benefits may apply only to specific membership categories as listed. NC Presenting Organization Full Membership • Professional development & networking opportunities: Membership in NCPC offers the opportunity to tap into the collective knowledge and expertise of its members. Chances are, that whatever situation you may face, another member has encountered and conquered it. Meet face to face with other members at arts conferences and at our regular in-state membership meetings. • Membership contact directory & planning calendar: a convenient all-membership roster including contact information, plus a handy 18-month planning calendar, distributed annually in June. •Member-only email listserv: immediate and easy access for communication with our full membership. With one email, you can reach 200+ NCPC members to ask for advice, discuss professional issues, consider booking opportunities and stay in touch with the click of a mouse. • Cooperative booking benefits: NCPC’s active collaborative booking efforts offer excellent opportunities for significant savings on artist contract fees. Regardless of your organization’s size or budget, NCPC’s cooperative block booking sessions are valuable professional resources for your season’s development. • Discounts at www.OnStageinNC.com: NCPC members receive the most discounted rates for promoting events on the OnStageinNC.com website, NC’s one-stop website for information and links to performing arts events of all types across the state. • Access at www.ncpresenters.org: Inclusion in inked member contact roster and other resources at www.ncpresenters.org, the NCPC organizational website. The website provides an updated membership list, meeting schedules, online meeting & conference registration, the most up-to-date bulletins on upcoming events, and much more. • Event preview privileges: Members may extend a complimentary pass (subject to availability) to other members to attend performances in which they may have interest presenting. • OUR STATE Magazine Partnership: Presenting organization members may participate in high profile, full-page color ads in each month’s issue of OUR STATE magazine, listing NCPC member events for the coming month. OUR STATE offers additional promotional benefits and partnership perks to NCPC members. • Cooperative Marketing: When decided jointly by participating venues, co-op marketing opportunities including banner ads at OnStageinNC.com, posters, tour cards, magazine ads and other tools are developed as part of extensive NCPC block-booked tours within NC. • Professional Development: Always-valuable workshops, resource sessions, seminars and membership discussions regarding matters and issues of importance to the industry. • Member-to-Member Assistance & Comraderie: NCPC members build valuable and treasured professional and personal relationships which offer immense rewards and benefits for members on a one-to-one basis. Members are available to others at almost any time for advice and consultation on issues of concern. With the ease of online communication accessible to members through the NCPC listserv, answers & information is often only moments away. NCPC members enjoy each other’s company! Meetings are well-organized, professionally beneficial, educational -- and just plain fun! Non-NC Presenting Organization Membership Benefits Membership is offered to presenters from outside the state of North Carolina, in addition to in-state emerging not-for-profit presenting organizations. (See list of presenter-membership criteria.) Non-NC membership entitles the organization to all the presenter member benefits listed above with the exception of the opportunity to be included in the display ads in OUR STATE magazine. Non-NC presenter members do have privileges of inclusion on the website www.OnStageinNC.com. Non-Presenting Professional Memberships (Performing Artists, Agents/ Managers, Service Providers, Industry Vendors) Non-presenter members’ support is vitally important in furthering the work and services of the North Carolina Presenters Consortium. All professional/business members are listed on the NCPC website. They are invited toparticipate in the NCPC annual meeting each summer and other social functions of the organization. (Professional/business members are excluded from NCPC collaborative booking meetings and do not receive minutes or records of such meetings.) One of the most valuable benefits for corporate and professional members is access to and inclusion on the NCPC email listserv -- an extremely profitable benefit for easily publicizing last-minute routing artist availabilities, etc. Artist agencies and managers applying for the Certificate of Authority from the office of the NC Secretary of State are also permitted to utilize NCPC as the agency’s official NC Agent of Record on the certificate application. Non-presenter members are invited to attend group functions at professional regional conferences and may co-sponsor or underwrite social & professional projects for the NCPC group. Professional associate members also receive advance notice and registration fee discounts for events such as the biennial ArtsMarket conference. |
